Summary

UNHOOK is built so that your check-ins and progress stay on your phone. There is no account, nothing you record is uploaded to our servers, and your data is never sold or used for advertising. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and the choices you have. It is provided by AVELLO PTY LTD.

What the app stores on your phone

• Your goal, and the reasons, hardest moments and starting point you choose to add (all optional except the goal).
• Your daily check-ins: the day, your answer and any optional mood or difficulty tags.
• Support sessions: which tool you used and how it went, by day only. You can turn this list off in Settings.
• Your achievements, companion level, cosmetics and settings such as reminder time.

UNHOOK does not store free-text journal entries, the time of an urge, your contacts, location, browsing history or app usage.

How it is protected

Your records are encrypted on your device with a key kept in the system keychain (iOS) or keystore-backed secure storage (Android). The key cannot be restored to a different device, so phone backups do not contain readable copies of your history. This also means your history cannot be recovered if you delete the app or move to a new phone, unless you export it first.

Data we receive

In the current version, none of your check-ins, answers or progress are sent to us. If you contact support by email, we receive what you send us.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase receipts from the store, but not your check-ins or answers. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Optional analytics

The app can ask whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics. It is off unless you turn it on. If you opt in, only a short, fixed list of non-sensitive events can be sent, such as “onboarding completed” or “paywall viewed”. Check-ins, urges, moods, triggers, goals and anything you type are never included. You can change your choice at any time in Settings.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone. Their wording is deliberately general and never mentions what the app is for.

Your choices

• Export everything UNHOOK stores about you from Settings, Privacy and data.
• Delete all data on your phone, including the encryption key, from the same screen.
• Turn analytics or support history on or off at any time.

Age

UNHOOK is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
